Primordial dragons faced one great dilemma. To sustain their huge mana producing bodies, they had to eat and sleep constantly.
Magic was young then, and every dragon was devising ways to use it. One clan realized that they could use it to speed up digestion. This craft worked particularly well on blood, because it didn’t need to be broken down like meat, and it was already in the form their body would use.
They started consuming only the blood of their prey, trading the meat to lesser races in exchange for more blood.
They could now produce more mana, and had leisure to hone their spell craft, and so the age of dragon magic began.
A guild of human mages eventually learned this craft. They were the first vampires.

Using the Vampiric Dragon’s own blood, he launches a magic rune that does heavy damage, but costs a significant amount of life.
Clone of Darkness

Upon striking an opponent the Vampiric dragon heals for 10 seconds. Stacks up to 5 times.
Vampiric dragons rely on misdirection and surprise. Left alone to charge up, they can lay waste to an entire team with Feeding Frenzy. As long as your teammates are locked in battle, Barder for Blood will keep a Vampiric dragon alive, but when their team disengages, they are extremely squishy.
Liege Dragons are sworn to protect kingdoms. They quest endlessly, hunting and eradicating Vampiric dragons.
